MANILA: Authorities seized an estimated PHP375 million worth of methamphetamine hydrocloride or ‘shabu’ from two Chinese and two Taiwanese nationals, in an anti-drug operation in Quezon City.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Police Director Joel Pagdilao identified the suspects as Wei Chang Lee, Henry Go Sy, both Chinese nationals; Chu Cheng Chu and Shan Wen Lee both Taiwanese nationals.
Police pounced on the suspects after they sold illegal drugs weighing more or less 75 kilos of shabu to a poseur-buyer around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at Philcoa Jollibee parking area in Quezon City.
Also confiscated from the suspects was a Hyundai Starex with plate number TIX 746.
The suspects who are currently detained are facing charges of violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
