PESHAWAR: Collectorate of Customs Preventive team foiled an attempt of smuggling of gold from Pakistan to Afghanistan
Sources told Customs Today that custom officials recovered six and half kilo from Afghanistan bound truck here.
The custom official said that on tip of, the customs preventive staff during routine search operation recovered six and half kilo gold from export goods loaded vehicle bearing registration number KAB-11212. The commodity was concealed in various cavities of the truck, the official informed.
Two gold smugglers identified as Torab Uthmanzai and Shahid Adil of Nengarhar, Afghanistan were detained and First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against them, the official said.
The price of the seized item was stated to be Rs55 million in market. Customs Preventive team registered a case and started investigations.
