PESHAWAR: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation team in a crackdown foiled a bid of smuggling and seized huge quantity of narcotics near Khazana Sugar Mills on Friday.
Sources told Customs Today that a tip off received to Director Arsalan Sabuktagen regarding smuggling of narcotics to Punjab from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The custom squad flag down a vehicle bearing registration number 7385 however instead of stopping the vehicle they speed up the vehicles which was followed by custom squad.
They seized 26 kilogram chars from the hidden cavities of the car. The seized amount is worth of Rs4.6 million. The smugglers made their escape while their vehicle was shifted to custom house Peshawar.
It is mentioned here that two weeks back the custom officials has also thwarted a bid of narcotics near Peshawar Motorway exchange.
