PESHAWAR: Directorate of Customs of Intelligence and Investigation thwarted yet another attempt of smuggling non-duty paid clothes loaded in two trucks.
Sources told Customs Today, that the attempt of smuggling was foiled by special tip off given to the staff on duty on Friday by Director I&I Customs Dr. Arsalan Subuctageen.
During the course of investigations it was revealed that the cloth were imported through illegal way from abroad and was mean to be distributed in local markets.
The length of cloth nearly touches high number of 2000 thaan for which the Customs staff was appreciated by Director I&I. According to detail special call was made to customs staff about entry of trucks laden with different origin of goods.
When security was made active the I&I intercepted a row of trucks bearing registration no: RIM-335 loaded with goods. The Customs officers founded that detail of two trucks was not provided so for the reason. The customs I&I staff arrested the drivers and took the vehicles into custody. A FIR was filed against the accused persons while further investigations are still under process till the filing of this report.
