ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate, Peshawar earned Rs 30 million through auction of vehicles of Agha Khan Foundation.
Peshawar Customs Deputy Collector Muhammad Amin said that the collectorate held a special auction of vehicles on September 20, 2016. He added that people from all parts of KPK participated in this auction.
The deputy collector said that there were 25 heavy vehicles, including Land Cruisers and Parado, which were set for sale, adding that all the vehicles were successfully auctioned. The successful bidders deposited one fourth of total amount on the spot with Peshawar Customs.
Muhammad Amin further said that the department also held auctions on September 7 and 8 where it generated Rs 20 million. The customs earned Rs 10 million through auction of miscellaneous goods and Rs 10 million through the auction of vehicles.
He added that overall performance of auction cell is satisfactory regarding revenue collection. He hoped that auction cell will meet the set target assigned by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) which is not given yet.
He said that it was the last auction held under his supervision, as he has been transferred to Hazara station as deputy collection where he will look after the matters of bonded warehouse.
