PESHAWAR: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) recovered huge quantity of smuggled items worth of Rs440 .9 million in the last one months of September.
According to the reliable sources the customs collectorate seized 45 vehicles U/S 157 worth of Rs70 million and 15 vehicle U/S16 worth Rs30 million while cloth of foreign origin 5407 yards worth of RS100 million.
Similarly the collectorate, seized poppy seeds of Rs0.1 million rupees arms with ammunition of worth one million rupees while in head currency the house generated five million rupees.
Likewise the ASO also recovered food grains 2106 kilogram with worth of Rs3.7 million and in head tea the ASO seized 9023 kilogram with worth of Rs4.8 million. The anti smuggling units also thwarted attempt of 4011 tyres worth of 10.2 million rupees and auto parts value of Rs20.2 million.
Similarly the organization also seized liquor 2208 bottles worth of Rs1.2 million and mineral coal 2701 kilogram. The ASO also seized gold and platinum 7113 gram worth of Rs20.3 million.
Beside this the ASO also seized cigarette 2402 dandas with worth Rs10.7 million rupees and electronic goods worth 30.1 million recovered in various crackdowns.
Besides this pirated CDs of Rs63000 rtoiletries 787400 kilogram, mobile phone and accessories worth Rs10.7 million recovered. The ASO also recovered cooking oil and miscellaneous goods of Rs9.7 million.
In head narcotics the performance of ASO was also tremendous and narcotics of a total value of Rs5.6 million seized in deferent operation.
The overall performance of the ASO was much better against the target as it has intensified the operation against smuggling.
