ISLAMABAD: Minister for National Food Security and Research Sikandar Hayat Bosan has called upon the agricultural scientists and the farmers to maximize the use of latest technology and management practices to improve the agriculture production in the country.
He was addressing the launching ceremony of Commemorative Postage Stamp on 100th birthday of Nobel Peace Prize Winner and Father of the Green Revolution Dr. Norman Borlaug in Islamabad.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of Pakistan Agricultural Research Council in collaboration with United States Department of Agriculture and International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre.
The Minister said the country is currently producing 25 million tons of wheat annually and we can easily enhance it to 30 million tons by adopting best management practices. He said the country is self-sufficient in wheat and we are considering to export it.
