LAHORE: Prior to the inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor, the authorities has deployed customs officers to facilitate Sikh pilgrims.
Sources told Customs Today that Pakistan Customs has issued notification of deployment of two superintendents 10 inspectors and 24 sepoys for duties at Kartarpur. Superintendent Muhammad Javed Iqbal will take charge as in charge administration. Superintendent Habib Tanveer Bhatti will take charge as shift in charge.
Other staff of ten inspectors Abdul Rehman Butt, Asad Faruq, Safdar Abbas, Sabir Ali, Tipu Sultan, Agha Ali Muhammad, Naeem Farhan, Aziz Tarar and Sharif Watto have also deployed on Kartarpur corridor to facilitate the Sikh pilgrims coming from India to Pakistan. The officers will be responsible for customs clearance of the Sikh pilgrims from India and around the world visiting Kartarpur to perform rituals.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate Kartarpur Corridor on November 9 on the occasion of Baba Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary. Former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has also been invited to the inaugural ceremony by the foreign ministry.
