ISLAMABAD: The newly appointed Ambassador of Belarus to Pakistan, Mr Andrei Ermolovich, said that Belarus is interested in broadening trade with Pakistan as both countries have good potential to expand bilateral trade and economic relations in multiple fields.
He was interacting with businessmen during his visit to Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI). He said for the first time Embassy of Belarus was being established in Pakistan.
He said the exports of Belarus to Pakistan are confined to limited items including tractors, their tyres & spare parts, chemical fibers and petro chemicals, and identified agriculture, energy, IT, steel & furniture etc as the other potential areas of cooperation between the two countries.
In his welcome address, ICCI President Shaban Khalid, said that Pakistan is looking for new markets & trade partners and the government has offered attractive incentives to foreign investors in this regard.
He urged that Pakistan and Belarus should facilitate their private sectors in establishing direct contacts, which is the best way to improve bilateral business relations.
