Pak Rangers helping drug smugglers in India: Counter intelligence

Active involvement of Pakistan Rangers in aiding and abetting drug and arms smuggling has come to light after the interrogation of 10 arrested Indian smugglers in Ferozepur sector, police officials.

The smugglers in Ferozepur sector revealed that Pakistan Rangers help drug smugglers.

Narendra Pal Singh Sidhu, AIG, Counter Intelligence, has said that the police has arrested 10 drug lords during the past year and their interrogation has revealed that cross border drug and arms smuggling is being facilitated by the Pakistan Rangers.

“While questioning the drug smugglers, they have revealed that Indian drug smugglers contact Pakistan Rangers to deliver the consignment of drugs. They are guided by the Pakistan Rangers,” said Narendra Pal Singh Sidhu.

As much as 70 drug smugglers have been arrested in Ferozepur sector after counter intelligence police post was opened in Fazilka way back in 2017.

Ajay Saluja, AIG Bathinda range, said that heroine is now being smuggled in smaller quantities from Pakistan after the arrest of big drug lords.

Ajay Saluja added that so far no case of dropping drug consignments by using drones has been reported in Ferozepur and Fazilka sectors. He, however, confirmed that people have seen some suspicious objects in the air during the night.

BSF, besides other security agencies including Punjab police, has seized 206 kg heroine in the year from border areas.
