LAHORE: Trade movement between Pakistan and Indian through Wagah-Attari land route continued to move at snail pace mainly due to lengthy and minute checking procedure by the authorities.
Reportedly, the number of truckloads crossing the border from both sides has declined to 10-15 from earlier figure of 150 to 200 consignments.
However, the fruit and vegetable market was not affected so much because new crops of onion and potato have started to enter the markets, causing declining of rates. The customs officials said that few trucks are crossing over to Pakistan through land route and a small number of consignments of cement and gypsum from Pakistan are going to India.
