ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Senator Ishaq Dar Pakistan will welcome Chinese investors for projects in the proposed Pak-China Economic Corridor such as Railways and Highways.
Chairing a meeting of the committee associated with Pak-China Economic Corridor power projects, the finance minister said that the energy requirements of Pakistan were one of the top priorities of the Pakistan Muslim League-N government. He said that safeguarding the investment by foreign companies similarly was the hallmark of its economic policies. “We shall continue to follow investor friendly policies”, he said, adding that energy projects were the prime feature of the Pak-China Corridor and would be facilitated in every possible manner.
The committee was of the view that framework of investment in the power sector under the current power policy provides adequate guarantees for domestic and foreign investors on the basis of a level playing field.
Federal Minister for Planning & Development Ahsan Iqbal, Secretary to Prime Minister Javaid Aslam, Finnace Secretary Dr Waqar Masood, Planning and Development Secretary Hassan Nawaz Tarar, Additional Finance Secretary Shahid Mahmood and Additional Secretary P&D Rizwan Bashir attended the meeting.
