WASHINGTON: Ohio’s jobless rate in February was unchanged at 4.9 percent, with 12,400 jobs created, a state report on Friday shows. The unemployment rate did not move from January but was down from the 5.1 percent a year earlier, according to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. The rate is on par with the national rate for last month of 4.9 percent.
The report says the state created jobs in trade, transportation, and utilities (5,800); educational and health services (4,300); financial activities (3,900), and construction (2,100), among other sectors. It lost jobs in manufacturing (2,300); leisure and hospitality (2,200), and other services (1,200), among others.
