MULTAN: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) observed Tax Day to create awareness in the public and business community about the significance of paying taxes regularly.
According to details, Punjab Revenue Authority has marked April 10 as a “tax day” to create public awareness about being tax compliant and about importance of revenue generation in helping the government to ensure provision of public facilities.
In connection with the celebrations of “Tax Day” across Punjab, Punjab Revenue Authority has organized seminar in the educational institutes to inform public about importance of taxes for the development of country.
Additional Commissioner Raees Humayun said that payment of taxes is national responsibility of our citizen in the country. He said that observing Tax Day is a step which would help promote a culture to pay taxes as provision of basic amenities is linked to it.
A reform in the tax regime has been initiated in the country for generation of taxes and government will spend these taxes on human development. People should pay their liable taxes in due time for the progress of country. Punjab Revenue Authority works as a neutral tax law enforcement agency in the Province that ensures collection of government’s due tax.
Finance Minister Punjab Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht has directed Chairman Punjab Revenue Authority Raheel Ahmad Siddiqui to launch tax awareness campaign in the Punjab for the collection of taxes.
