LAHORE: All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) has secured continuous supply of electricity and gas after successful negotiation with the government.
APTMA Central Chairman S M Tanveer said this while talking to the media. “Successful talks between textile industry’s representatives and the government have resulted into complete exemption from electricity loadshedding for the industry on independent feeders from November 13, and immediate withdrawal of the gas suspension programme for the textile mills.”
He said a textile industry delegation including representatives from the Hosiery, PTA and Processing Industry, under the leadership of Gohar Ejaz called on the Federal Ministers for Textile Industry, Commerce and Finance to apprise them about the plight of textile industry due to energy shortage in Punjab.
He said APTMA delegation comprised Wisal A Monnoo, Sheikh Muhammad Akbar, Syed Ali Ahsan, Adil Bashir, Ali Pervaiz, Sikandar Kuli Khan, under the able leadership of Gohar Ejaz and Jawed Iqbal. He said the APTMA delegation convinced the federal ministers on continuous energy supply during the winter to keep exports, jobs and productivity intact in the country.
