WELLINGTON: The New Zealand dollar strengthened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Tuesday.
The NZ dollar rose to nearly a 6-month high of 1.5931 against the euro and more than a 4-week high of 81.71 against the yen, from yesterday’s closing quotes of 1.6037 and 80.99, respectively.
Against the US and the Australian dollars, the kiwi advanced to nearly a 4-week high of 0.6637 and nearly a 2-week high of 1.0936 from yesterday’s closing quotes of 0.6580 and 1.0973, respectively.
If the kiwi extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 1.56 against the euro, 83.00 against the yen, 0.68 against the greenback and 1.07 against the aussie.
