ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has allowed additional collector of the port of exit to extend stipulated period for three months to depart break bulk Nato/ISAF cargos. According to details, the FBR amended to the Customs General Order (CGO) – 10, 2012 through notification C-No 1 (12)T&BT/2014. Earlier, the board through CGO-10/2012 directed that the cargo in transit shall cross the border or depart from the country as the case may be, within 15 days of clearance from the port of entry.
In circumstances beyond the control of the carrier, the additional collector of customs of the port of entry may, upon the application of the authorised carrier and after satisfying himself, extend stipulated period for not more than 30 days. Now, the FBR has made amendments to and allowed additional collector of the port of exit to extend the stipulated period for not more than 90 days to depart break bulk Nato/ISAF cargos.
