WASHINGTON: These photos of Australia are out of this world — and it’s the incredible view NASA astronaut Scott Kelly can see of our land from space.
Kelly, who is currently aboard the International Space Station, has revealed the latest photos he has taken of the Earth’s surface.
The pictures contain incredible vistas of colour which could be mistaken for a piece of artwork. Kelly shared his photos on his Twitter account with followers using the hashtag #EarthArt.
Given how far he away he was from the continent, it is difficult to identify the exact location but they are understood to be shot around central and northern South Australia.
Kelly is halfway through his year-long space mission, where he is providing data that will help us understand how spending time in space affects the human body.
