JAMMU: Jhajjar Kotli and Nagrota police foiled bovine smuggling bids, rescued 10 milch animals and apprehended three smugglers.
As per police sources, police team from Jhajjar Kotli police station laid a naka at Nandni and intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration JK02BH-9285.
During checking, police rescued 6 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers, who have been identified as Mohammad Rafiq, son of Mohammad Zori of Jaswan Paryal Kanachak and Shamsher Ali, son of Haji Noor of RS Pura. The vehicle has been seized.
In this connection, a case under FIR Number 67/15 under Sections 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli police station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, police team from Nagrota police station during naka checking intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JKO2BK-1966 at Bantalab. From the vehicle, police rescued six bovines and arrested one person, who has been identified as Mohammad Aslam of Lale-da-Bagh Satwari.
In this regard, a case under FIR Number 126/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation taken up.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli police station SI Hilal Azhar and SHO Nagrota police station Inspector Vinod Kumar foiled the bovine smuggling bids under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey.
