KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has sought access to the bank accounts of three former chairmen of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) as a part of recently kicked off inquiry against them.
Sources informed Customs Today that the NAB have written letters to the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, seeking access to the bank accounts of three former FBR chairmen namely Salman Siddiqui, Abdullah Yousuf and Ali Arshad, who served during the years 2000 to 2008.
The sources claimed that the NAB has some evidence of embezzlements, allegedly committed by the former chairmen causing loss to department.

They further said that the government premium authorities have allowed the authorities concerned of NAB to scrutinize the bank accounts of those retired officers of FBR.
The sources further informed this scribe that the notices regarding disclosing the bank accounts’ details to those former officers of FBR to be issued in next week by the authorities concerned of NAB.
Responding to a query, the sources further said that the authorities concerned of NAB would also probe the bank accounts details of current officers of FBR from Grade BS-19 to BS-21.
