ISLAMABAD: Corruption is root cause of all evils of society. National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is trying hard to eradicate corruption recover looted money and deposit the same in national kitty.
NAB has already recovered Rs466 billion from corrupt persons which shows its excellent performance under the guidance of Justice ® Javed Iqbal who himself after taking the charge of chairman NAB directed to adopt zero tolerance policy against corruption and determined to recover looted money and deposit it to national exchequer.
National Accountability Bureau strongly believes in “Accountability for All” policy. NAB has arrested 300 corrupt persons and filed 500 references against accused persons in accountability courts which are being heard nowadays.
National Accountability Bureau also deposited Rs178 billion in national exchequer. Now there are around 1210 corruption references which under proceedings in NAB courts involving Rs900 billion. National Accountability Bureau is a role model among South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries, while NAB is first chairman of SAARC anti-corruption forum.
NAB also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with People’s Republic of China. NAB outstanding performance is being hailed by Transparency International, PILDAT, World Economic Forum, Gillani and Gallop survey showed that 59 percent people imposed full confidence on the transparency of NAB which is a good example of excellent performance under the dynamic leadership of Justice ® Javed Iqbal.
