NAB constitutes Special Cell to investigate white collar crimes

ISLAMABAD- The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Friday constituted a Special Cell for conducting effective investigations of White Collar Crimes.

According to reliable sources, the Cell comprising experts in their respective fields included investigation officers, bankers, chartered accountants, income tax lawyers, forensic and financial experts to assist NAB in the white collar crimes investigations. They will also help NAB in understanding of legal complications.

The Special Cell would also be authorised to seek assistance of Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan,  (SECP), Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and other relevant departments in white collar crime investigations as per law.

Earlier, today Maryam Nawaz has been summoned by the National Accountability Bureau on August 11 in a case related to the alleged illegal transfer of government land, Geo News reported Thursday citing sources.

According to the sources, Maryam is accused of receiving 200 acres of what was supposed to be government land in Raiwind. The sources said that the transfer was done during DC Noor-ul-Amin Mengal and former DG LDA Ahad Cheema’s tenure.

NAB has also summoned Mengal along with the LDA officials of that time with records, sources said.
