MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) detained a container loaded with foreign origin cloth worth Rs.68.5 million.
According to details, Deputy Collector Maqbool Ahmad Balouch received credible information from his source that a container loaded with imported cloths will transport huge quantity of ladies and gents cloths through Dera Ghazi Khan Region. Deputy Collector Headquarter constituted special squad led by Inspector Shah Nawaz to carry out action against them and directed anti-smuggling squad to thwart any attempt of smuggling.
Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization Dera Ghazi Khan took special measures for the recovery of cloth and started patrolling on the different suspected routes of Dera Ghazi Khan by enhancing monitoring of the movement of goods to intercept goods.
Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization team intercepted the suspected vehicle bearing registration number: TLJ-877 near Ramzan Chowk Rajanpur and recovered 8620 Kilogram of bleached fabric suits, dyed ladies chiffon of 2060 kilogram along with different variety of gents and ladies shirting/suiting velvet finished fabric in assorted colours and designs Customs teams found that recovered were packed in different rolls and asked driver of the truck to present import documents of the recovered cloths to justify their legal possession.
Customs Anti-Smuggling squad detained recovered foreign origin cloths packed in different rolls during their action by detaining them under customs act 1969.The value of seized cloths was almost Rs68.5 million along with duty taxes.
