MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) has impounded vehicles and miscellaneous goods worth Rs662 million during January to until now for on-going fiscal year 2019-20.
Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation carried out various anti-smuggling operations against smuggled goods and vehicles in the territory on the directions of Director Dr. Muhammad Adnan Akram.
During said period Customs Intelligence and Investigation teams detected 43 seizure cases during their anti-smuggling operations in the Jurisdiction. Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) impounded 23 foreign origin smuggled vehicles of worth Rs109 million in their anti-smuggling crackdown.
Customs Intelligence teams conducted different actions on the basis of their credible information and carried out anti-smuggling operations in different areas of Multan, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sare-i-Muhajir and Sadiqabad during first 40 days of year 2020.
Field Intelligence Unit seized Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Fielder, Mazda trucks, Toyota Pajero jeep, Toyota Crown, Hino truck and others of different brands and models.
Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has enhanced monitoring of the goods and vehicles at the various suspected routes of territory which were adopted for transportation of smuggled goods and vehicles to restrain smuggling.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized huge quantity of foreign origin apples, steel wire, cloths, auto parts, tyres, almonds, blankets, High Speed Diesel and others in their various anti-smuggling actions in the jurisdiction.
Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation would continue its anti-smuggling activities in the territory to curb the menace of smuggling from widespread jurisdiction.
