Multan I&I earns Rs65.03m through auction of vehicles & goods

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) generated Rs65.03 million through auction of non-customs paid vehicles and miscellaneous goods.

According to details, Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation conducted auction of seized miscellaneous goods and vehicles for the month of October.

Said vehicles and miscellaneous goods were seized by Field Intelligence Unit of Customs in various anti-smuggling operations in the jurisdiction.

The auction of confiscated vehicles and articles was held in the Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) near Khanewal Road, Raja Pur Multan.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation presented 19 impounded vehicles including Toyota Corolla, Suzuki Alto Daihatsu Mira, Range Rover Jeep, Honda Civic, Toyota Estima, Toyota Premio, Toyota Fielder, Toyota Passo, Toyota Vitz, Toyota Aqua Hybrid, Toyota Surf, and others for auction.

As many as 17 non-duty paid vehicles were sold successfully in Rs34.71 million. Said confiscated vehicles were non-tampered and non-duty paid. Customs Intelligence auctioned these confiscated vehicles after completion of legal procedure and trial from Customs Adjudication.

The Customs Intelligence Multan also sold out five lots of Iranian skimmed milk, cumin seed, tamarind, fig, dove soap, silk bed sheets and tyres in the auction in almost Rs.30.32 million. Few lots of miscellaneous goods were rejected due to value offered than their reserved price.

Additional Collector Saeed Ahmad Wattoo supervised the whole auction process to ensure transparency along with other staff of Customs Intelligence.
