MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation generated Rs.30.03 million from auction of confiscated vehicles and miscellaneous goods.
According to details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation held public auction of seized miscellaneous goods and vehicles in the Raja Pur office near Khanewal Road .Confiscated vehicles and miscellaneous goods were seized in their different anti-smuggling actions. There were 27 smuggled vehicles of different brands and models offered for the public sale. Huge number of bidders participated in the auction process for bidding.
As many as 14 impounded vehicles were sold out after successful bidding in the auction. Customs Intelligence sold out these 14 vehicles in Rs.24.5 million during auction. The vehicles which was offered for auction includes Toyota Crown ,Toyota Fielder, Suzuki Kei, Hino Ranger Truck, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla G, Toyota Vitz, Mazda Titan Dumper, Suzuki Swift, Honda Hilux Surf, Toyota Corolla X ,Hino Range Truck and others.
Remaining vehicles were unsold due to fewer price offered by bidders in auction. These confiscated vehicles were non-tampered and non-duty paid. Customs Intelligence offered these confiscated vehicles for auction after completion of legal procedure and trial from Customs Adjudication.
The Customs Intelligence has also sold only 4 lots out of 10 miscellaneous goods of worth Rs13.53 million during auction. The lots included plastic paper scrap, plastic beads LTV alloy rims, bourage brand of polyethylene, Diesel generator, Mazda Titan, calcium frames, gypsum stones, ground nuts in shell and others.
Assistant Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Javed Raza supervised the whole auction process along with other staff.
