MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement & Compliance proposed Rs.354 million budget proposals for the financial year 2020-2021.
According to the details, the Federal Board of Revenue has invited all Customs Collectorate including Customs Multan to submit budget proposals for the upcoming financial year 2020-21.
Collector Fayaz Anwar has directed deputy collector headquarter to finalize budget proposals after measuring requirement of every department.
The Collectorate has proposed budget of Rs354 million for fiscal year 2020-2021 after comprehensive discussion with concerned officials.
While Multan Customs Preventive allocated Rs304 million budget for the on-going economic year 2019-2020.
Deputy Collector Headquarter suggested enhancement of Rs50 million budget for the upcoming year 2020-2021.
There are almost 23 anti-smuggling squads performing their preventive activities in the jurisdiction.
Anti-smuggling squads are patrolling in the widespread jurisdiction and its boundaries touches two provincial borders of Baluchistan and Sindh, Multan International Airports, Faisalabad International Airport, Rahim Yar Khan Airport, Bahawalpur Airport, Dera Ghazi Khan Airport have been added into jurisdiction of Multan Customs in last few months.
It is pertinent to mention here that earlier Federal Board of Revenue has handed over jurisdiction of airports to Customs Appraisement Faisalabad and after facing several administrative issues airports have been included in the jurisdiction of Customs Multan.
The Collectorate of Enforcement & Compliance has requested for enhanced budget to meet their routine expanses for anti-smuggling squads and it also includes maintenance expenditure, offices and repairing expenditures of anti-smuggling vehicles used in their operations.
