MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized smuggled goods and vehicles worth Rs 63.67 million in various anti-smuggling activities during the month of March.
According to details, Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has carried out various anti-smuggling operations in the jurisdiction during the month of March. Anti-Smuggling Organization has launched intensive crackdown against smuggled goods and vehicles in the region to curb smuggling.
The Customs Collectorate has enhanced monitoring of the various routes adopted for movement of smuggled vehicles and goods to curb smuggling. Assistant Collector Omer Bin Zafar Chatha has enhanced surveillance in the territory to curb smuggling on the directions of Collector Ambreen Ahmad and it has given successful results.
Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has intercepted 35 vehicles of different brands and models worth Rs35 million throughout March in their actions. These impounded vehicles include Toyota Hilux Surf, Mitsubishi Pajero, Land Cruiser, Toyota Premio, Toyota Vitz, Honda Civic, Suzuki Alto and others in March.
These impounded vehicles include non-tampered and tampered during examination of Customs Anti-smuggling Organization. Multan Customs has also seized huge quantity of High Speed Diesel, Cigarettes and other miscellaneous goods worth Rs28.67 million in their action.
Anti-smuggling teams have reduced the movement of smuggled items in the region due to their extensive crackdown. Customs has formed various seizure cases worth Rs.49.31 million in March of the corresponding fiscal year 2017-18.
