MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement &Compliance (E&C) Anti-Smuggling Organization has impounded vehicles and smuggled items of Rs205.41 million in different actions during May.
According to details, Multan Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) conducted various anti-smuggling operations amid corona virus lockdown during the month of May.
Anti-Smuggling Organization has launched rigorous crackdown against smuggled vehicles and miscellaneous goods on the direction of Collector Muneeza Majeed. The ASO enhanced the monitoring of various routes adopted to prevent transportation of smuggled vehicles and goods.
Customs Anti-smuggling Organization was assigned anti-smuggling task of Rs186 million for the month of May. Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling has intercepted four vehicles of different brands and models worth Rs20.8 million throughout May.
These impounded vehicles include Toyota Premio, BMW, Camry and others. These seized vehicles were found non-tampered during examination of Customs Anti-smuggling Organization.
Anti-Smuggling teams have made smuggling impossible in the region due to their extensive crack down. Multan Customs has detected nine seizure cases worth Rs184.61 million in May. These seizure cases include shipments of betel nuts, almonds, cashew nuts, skimmed milk, iron padlocks, cigarettes and others during anti-smuggling activities.
Multan Customs Collector Muneeza Majeed has directed Anti-smuggling Organization to intensify anti-smuggling operation in the region to curb smuggling.
