MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement & Compliance (E&C) Anti-Smuggling Organization has impounded vehicles and smuggled goods worth Rs30019.68 million in different operations during whole fiscal year 2019-20.
According to details, Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has carried out various anti-smuggling operations during economic year 2019-20. Anti-Smuggling Organization has launched rigorous crackdown against smuggled vehicles in the region.
The Collectorate has enhanced the monitoring of the various suspected routes to prevent transportation of smuggled vehicles and goods.
Customs Enforcement & Compliance has stepped up anti-smuggling drive in the territory under command of Collector Muneeza Majeed.
Customs Anti-smuggling Organization has intercepted 166 vehicles of different brands and models worth Rs438.9 million throughout financial in their different actions in the territory.
These impounded vehicles include Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Hilux Surf, Toyota Premio, Toyota Vitz, Toyota Fielder and others. Majority of seized vehicles were found non-tampered during examination.
Anti-smuggling teams has intercepted huge quantity of smuggled goods worth Rs30019.68 million during year 2019-20.
Multan Customs detected 390 seizure cases of smuggling including huge quantity of skimmed milk, chewing tobacco, gutka, auto parts, tyres, cloths and other miscellaneous goods.
Multan Customs was assigned anti-smuggling task of Rs2444 million for the economic year 2019-20 but Multan Customs has accomplished more than assigned task during 2019-20.
Collector Muneeza Majeed has appraised the performance of Anti-smuggling Organization and directed them to continue their same performance for the accomplishment of future tasks.
