MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement & Compliance has missed the assigned revenue collection target during the month of April 2019-20 due to lockdown.
According to details, the Collectorate of Enforcement & Compliance (E&C) assigned Rs10 million projected revenue collection task for the month of April 2020.
The Collectorate has revised the revenue collection task for the month of April due to ongoing pandemic corona virus for the month of April.
Customs Collectorate Enforcement & Compliance (E& C) Multan was assigned Rs100.9 million revenue collection tasks under the heads of customs duty, sales tax and withholding taxes. The Enforcement & Compliance (E&C) collected customs duty revenue collection task of Rs6.3 million, sales tax Rs5.6 million and withholding tax of Rs2.4 million for the month of April 2020.
Multan Customs Collectorate made net collection of Rs14.4 million during month of April 2019-20.Multan Customs has missed the projected revenue task for the month of April 2020 due to lockdown and closure of business activities in the South Punjab.
The Customs Enforcement & Compliance generated revenue of Rs14.4 million during April.
But due to on-going Corona Virus situation Provincial government has imposed lock down and traffic movement in the jurisdiction has been infrequent.
The revenue collection of Multan Customs has been affected badly due to lock down situation in the aftermath of Covid-19. Covid-19 lock down has further worsened the situation of revenue collection.
