MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement & Compliance seized non-customs paid foreign origin glassware during operation near Sher Shah Bypass.
Sources told Customs Today that Anti-Smuggling Organization received credible information that suspected Nissan trailer loaded with smuggled glassware will reach Multan.
Deputy Collector Amjad Aman formed special anti-smuggling under the supervision of Inspector Muhammad Saleems to intercept smuggled glassware.
Anti-smuggling squad enhanced patrolling and monitoring of suspected routes to intercept container. During patrolling of suspected routes customs anti-smuggling staff impounded a container loaded with glassware. The intercepted glassware was Iran origin. Smuggled glassware’s were packed in cartons and Customs anti-smuggling staff recovered 1850 cartons during their action. The net weight of said glassware was almost 20000 kilograms. Customs anti-smuggling squad teams asked driver to produce import documents of said glassware’s to justify their possession.
Driver of said container failed to produce any legal documents of the said glassware and customs team seized the container and formed seizure report against non-customs paid glassware. The net worth of seized glassware was million Rs12 million and value of container along trailer was also almost Rs12million. Further proceedings against seized glassware’s are still under process.
