MULTAN: Model Customs Collectorate Multan Collector Dr. Sarfraz Ahmad Warriach holds a meeting with official of Collectorate to review the revenue collection and discuss the declining trend in import of High Speed Diesel.
As per detail, Additional Collector Ghulam Mustafa and Deputy Collector Multan Dry Port Dr. Muhammad Ali Malik and others attended the meeting.
Collector Sarfraz was briefed by the officials that cut in diesel prices has affected the revenue generation as the department is facing shortfall in wake of Sales Tax during the current fiscal year 2014-15.
Official also informed collector that quantity of cleared diesel through MCC Multan was decreasing day by day which also causing for less tax collection.
Deputy Collector Multan Dry Port Dr. Muhammad Ali told during the meeting that price of diesel was vulnerable with international market which plunged during current financial year. He added that department could collect lesser Sales Tax due to cut in prices.
On the other hand, MCC Multan Collector Dr. Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich has directed the officers in meeting to gather the detail of diesel imports from all other collectorates of customs for analyzing the import figure of Multan with other. He also directed the officers to enhance the performance in order to achieve the revenue target.
