LAHORE: To produce international standard manpower, the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) and Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to upgrade its curriculum.
Addressing members of LCCI, Tevta chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that the authority suggested forming a Tevta-LCCI liaison committee and upgradation of all Tevta labs through extra-funding.
Former LCCI President Shahid Hassan Sheikh, former Senior Vice President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad and EC members also spoke on the occasion.
The Tevta chief had brought with him the entire team of the authority. He said that all efforts were being made to increase the number of trainers in Tevta institutes. He said that trained manpower could play a vibrant role to boost the national economy and growth of the industry.
Speaking on the occasion, LCCI Senior Vice President Mian Nauman Kabir said that collaboration between the two institutions can bridge the skill gap by value addition and responding to technological shift in manufacturing and facing global challenges. This, he said would lead to a quantum jump in the exports of the country.
