KARACHI: The well-known personalities known as (tripple M) MMM are under strict watch of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for their alleged corruption and forgery of land records in the Sindh province, it is learnt.
The MMM are Mohammad Ali Shaikh and Mumtaz Ali Zardari, close associate of former president Asif Zardari and his brother Owais Muzafar alias Tappi, while Mohammad Ali Memon is the close relative of Sindh Minister for Local Government and Information Sharjeel Inam Memon.
While coming into action, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sindh on Thursday arrested Mohammad Ali Shaikh, the owner of Taj Petroleum Services from Karachi Airport when he was trying to flee from the country. “He was fleeing to the United States of America via United Arab Emirates”, the sources told Customs Today.
In yet another action, the NAB Karachi has arrested accused Mumtaz Ali Zardari, ex- Town Municipal Officer, Sajawal.
“The arrested accused was allegedly involved in corruption worth Rs.100 million which he committed through withdrawal of illegal cheques and issued huge amounts to fake contractors/parties”, Qudsia Qadri, Incharge Media Cell, NAB told this scribe.
She further informed that the accused had falsified accounts, made fake purchases, salaries to ghost employees were paid and no development work was done on any scheme and the budget was embezzled.
The NAB has started multiple investigations into cases and sufficient proof has been collected and seized, for further proceeding under the law, she added.
