KARACHI: The Customs Court directed investigation officer of Collectorate of Customs Exports to submit progress report against Khoshi Muhammad, exporter of M/s Habibah and M. Yousuf Enterprise, booked in mega tax evasion case.
On 22 July 2020, investigation officer submitted that the above mentioned exporter filed goods declaration description used garment jeans pants second hand grade quantity 24000 kg of containers at KICT, destined to Port Kelang, Malaysia, subsequently the said containers were grounded for detailed examination by ANF staff, the physical examination led to recovery of 30 kg ketamine packed in 128 packets which were tactfully concealed inside the door strips of the containers.
He further submitted that since total quantity 35.4 kilogram of ketamine (ban in Malaysia) was being taken out of Pakistan in the garb of used garments second hand d grade quality in 800 bales weighing 24.8 destined to Malaysia.
He said that the above said goods have been seized under proper musheernama and after being served the mandatory notice under section 171 of the customs act, 1969 through KICT at the given address of the exporter accordingly and copy thereof has been pasted on the notice board under section 215 (A) of customs act, 1969 at the office of the deputy collector, examination at KICT, West Wharf, Karachi.
He informed that investigations are still under process to ascertain the role of others persons who may be involved in commission of the office.
