KARACHI: Continuing volatility of early trading, Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100-index even could not come out of the pressure till midday, shedding 61.81 points to reach 29821.29 points with the total volume of 22,187,280 shares on the first trading day on Monday. The KSE once in the morning trading plummeted to 29766 and also went up to 29927 points.
In the previous week, benchmark KSE 100-index opened on a positive sentiments on the first day of trading but lost 257.07 points in the week-long trading, as it opened at 30149.95 points on Monday and closed at 29892.88 points on Friday.
On political front, the political parties have started flexing their muscles by holding big public gatherings. Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has officially started his political career in Karachi as Pakistan Awami Tehreek staged a huge public meeting in Lahore. MQM has also announced to say goodbye to PPP-led coalition government in Sindh, further worsening the political situation in the country.
