MULTAN: The Model of Customs Collectorate Multan has cancelled auction of non-duty paid vehicles and miscellaneous goods after the desperate involvement from bidders.
As per details, MCC Multan disappointed from the response of bidders during the auction process of confiscated goods and vehicles .The Model of Customs Collectorate Multan presented confiscated goods amounting to Rs 10 million during auction in the month of September for public sale.
Assistant Collector MCC Multan Faizan Badar rejected bids of confiscated goods during the auction due to low prices than the set prices from Federal Board of Revenue.
After holidays of Eidul Azha, most people in Multan city were uninformed about the auction of confiscated goods and competition in bidding was also lacking during auction in MCC Multan. Nearly eight people were present during the auction of MCC Multan at Customs House and they were offering low prices of confiscated goods.
Almost three confiscated vehicles and one heavy bike were offered for auction including Toyota Vitz, Toyota Sierra Jeep, Toyota Hilux Surf and Suzuki motorcycle (heavy bike).Two various lots of confiscated furnace oil containing 27000 and 30,000 liters were also over ruled due to less bid than the set price. Several other confiscated goods including clutch plates ,used tyres of different size and brands, old and used spare parts of auto parts of 250-CC Suzuki heavy bike with tampered chassis.
Few Sony digital HD video camera recorder HDV 1080/mini were offered no bid during the auction. The prices will be reviewed again after cancellation of confiscated goods and vehicles during the auction at MCC Multan.
