KARACHI: The Collector of Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement (West), Muhammad Saleem has termed the current month of March as crucial for revenue generation in order to attain the desirable target during the fiscal year of 2013-14.
He expressed these views while talking to Customs Today. On the occasion, Collector MCC-Appraisement (West) informed this scribe that the collectorate has arranged over 12 auctions at BOML and West Wharf in the current month.
Collector Muhammad Saleem further said that the collectorate, through a formulated strategy, has decided to complete the auctions of fresh/leftover lots of general cargo and vehicles at the end of May, 2014.
He further said that the auctions of those fresh/leftover general cargo and vehicles will play a significant role in achieving the revenue targets set by Federal Board of Revenue for the fiscal year 2013-14.
It is pertinent to mention here that the MCC-Appraisement (West) under Schedule No. 02/2014 had conducted auctions of fresh/leftover general cargo and vehicles from Feb, 17 to Feb, 28 at AICT, KICT (Al-Hamd), bonded warehouses and BOML.
Auction of general cargo at AICT was conducted on February 17; auction of general cargo at KICT (Al-Hamd) on February 18; auction of fresh/leftover vehicles at AICT on February 19; auction of general cargo at bonded warehouses on February 20; and the auction of general cargo at BOML was conducted from February 24 to February 28.
Similarly, MCC-Appraisement (West) has decided to hold auctions of leftover/fresh general cargo and vehicles at BOML and West Wharf in the month of March.
