ISLAMABAD: State Minister and Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon has listened to problems of BISP beneficiaries of remote areas during a live radio broadcast.
A large number of beneficiaries from different areas including Kashmor, Gilgit, Hafizabad, Abbottabad, Swabi, Ghanchi, Shahdara, Attock, Landi-Kotal, Haripur, Chamb, Peshawar, Taxila, Nowshera, Islamabad, Chakwal, Lahore, Bajor, Jehlum, Narowal and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) apprised the chairperson of the problems faced by them.
Replying to queries, Chairperson stated that since she assumed office last February, she was trying to make BISP more efficient. She said that BISP was expecting a re-survey transition, payment transition and a graduation transition this year.
The chairperson resolved all the complaints of the live callers in very short time through a case management system which was running by her. Marvi said she would take live calls from the beneficiaries every week and would be resolve their problems at the earliest. She said BISP would use all its hotlines which has been already exist in 450 tehsils of the country, adding that to counter check she has started the said radio programme and ensure to address the issues of beneficiaries.
BISP is the first organization that has started the Radio service to resolve the issue of beneficiaries, she added.
