LCCI to hold “Building a sustainable family business” workshop on 25th

Lahore: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) is holding a workshop on “Building a sustainable family business” on March 25, 2015 here at the LCCI premises.

The LCCI in collaboration with Q Consulting, arranging a workshop to equip Family Owned Enterprises with tools and training to implement sound Corporate Governance and Succession Planning practices in their businesses to ensure long term sustainability.

The LCCI President Ijaz A. Mumtaz said that objective of the workshop was to highlight the importance of Family Owned Business. Family Owned Enterprises (FOE) were the backbone of the Pakistani economy and contribute enormously to employment creation, export earnings and the growth of our economy.

He said that the sad fact was that many Family Owned Enterprises will not survive from one generation to the next or ever realize their true potential. The break-up of a family business has far reaching implications for the entire family, personal relationships are destroyed and the business can collapse as a result.

Mumtaz said that corporate governance was an increasingly important area of focus for stakeholders in all organizations and particularly those listed on publicly traded exchanges.
