LAREDO: Laredo’s unemployment rate dips slightly in the month of February. Workforce Solutions of South Texas says Laredo unemployment rate is now 4.7 percent in February, down 0.1 percent from the previous month.
The reduction comes against the backdrop of 700 new jobs added to the local economy, distributed across several industries, and an increase of 880 to the local labor force.
The spike in employment was associated with school districts reaching full staffing after the holidays. There was also gains in professional and business services and leisure and hospitality.
