LABARD fulfills commitment to rehabilitate disabled persons

LAHORE: While fulfilling its promise of rehabilitation of the disabled persons, the Lahore Businessmen Association for Rehabilitation of Disabled (LABARD) has distributed cooking cart along with equipment, mobile phone repairing counter, equipment for beauty parlor, hair cutting salon, sewing machines etc among the disabled persons at an impressive ceremony which was chaired by the LCCI President Ijaz A. Mumtaz here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Chief Executive of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) S.M. Muneer, LCCI Senior Vic President Mian Nauman Kabir, SAARC Vice President Iftikhar Ali Malik, LABARD Joint Secretary Ahmer Malik, Naghmana Javed, Governing Body Members, Bilal Majeed and Umer Saeed of GIZ were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the LCCI President Ijaz A. Mumtaz paid rich tributes to LABARD office-bearers for spending their time and energies for this noble cause. He said that LABARD is a feather in LCCI cap and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry would leave no stone unturned in ensuring proper assistance to the LABARD. He said that all the businessmen should at least accommodate one disabled person in his factory or office to curtail the miseries of the society.

LABARD Joint Secretary Ahmer Malik informed the participants that LABARD has also arranged jobs for these disabled persons with an objective to give them courage to stare in the eyes of physical disability they have been suffering with.

Meanwhile, the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry has expressed its heartfelt sorrow and shock over the tragic death of Punjab Home Minister Col (r) Shuja Khanzada and termed it a national loss.

In a condolence message, the LCCI President Ijaz A. Mumtaz, Senior Vice President Mian Nauman Kabir and Vice President Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi said that assassination of a true patriot was a conspiracy to create anarchy in the country therefore, the government should utilize all available resources to track down the conspirators.

“Col ® Shuja Khanzada was making an invaluable contribution to crush terrorists in the province. The country has lost an honest and patriotic politician,” they said.

He said that Col ® Shuja Khanzada was striving to do everything to defeat terrorists in the province. His services for the country will never be forgotten.
