ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of China, Sun Weidong called on Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Pervez Khattak here on Saturday and discussed with him matters of mutual interest.
In a joint statement issued here after the meeting said that the Chief Minister Khattak informed the Chinese ambassador about the reforms process and legislation in different areas.
He said that KPK government has introduced these reforms for transforming the provincial government systems to ensure standardized service delivery in a smooth and transparent manner.
CM also informed about investment opportunities for local and foreign investors with particular reference to viable potential in hydro-power generation, minerals and oil and gas sectors.
He apprised him the problems and difficulties faced by KPK government in the backdrop of war on terror. The Chief Minister apprised the ambassador of the improved security and law and order situation in the province and enabling environment for investment and economic development.
Pervez Khattak also discussed Pakistan China Economic Corridor (CPEC) project and stressed on equitable distribution of resources for development of backward areas along the corridor.
Chinese ambassador briefed the KPK chief minister about the latest projects being carried out in KPK by Chinese companies and said energy production projects from major part of such activities which will generate over 2700 megawatt electricity after completion.
Weidong expressed the wish of Chinese government for peace, stability and prosperity of Pakistan for sustainable development.
