PESHAWAR: The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) are giving a deaf ear to PTI chief Imran Khan’s call for civil disobedience by filing tax returns, official sources said.
“They are paying all kind of outstanding dues with regard to sales tax and federal excise duty,” they said.
Despite PTI government in the province, as many as 700 registered tax payers, including traders and industrialists, have rejected the civil disobedience call, and are submitting tax returns and paying outstanding dues.
Official sources said that the Federal Board of Revenue had extended the date for filing of tax returns besides beefing up security of its offices across the province.
They said that 700 tax payers had filed sales tax and federal excise duty returns with the FBR Peshawar and Abbottabad offices.
