KARACHI: Muhammad Rizwan Shahzada has approached the Sindh High Court (SHC) on behalf of M/s Jawad Art Packages, seeking a stay order on the proceeding against cancellation of his sales tax registration.
In his constitutional petition, the petitioner stated that he has been running a business with the name and style of Jawad Art Packages, located at Ejaz Colony, Garden, East Karachi, for the last 10 years. The petitioner having good reputation in the business community and paid the heavy amount in the shape of income tax and sales tax to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
According to the petitioner, he at once shocked when a letter was received on June 14, 2016issued by Regional Tax Office-II Inland Revenue (IR) Zone-IV commissioner and imposed charges of fake invoices.
The petitioner said that he approached the respondent and informed that he has no concerned with the fake invoices, however, the said respondent did not stopped the proceeding and all requested and facts were ignored and petitioner was informed that this is the final notice to the petitioner for paying the amount mentioned in the letter.
Citing Ministry of Finance secretary and IR commissioner as respondents, the petitioner pleaded the court may direct the respondents to halt the proceedings for cancelling the sale tax registration certificate. He also pleaded the SHC may withdraw the order for suspension of registration of M/s Jawad Art Package.
