TOKYO: Industrial production in Japan rose 3.7 percent in January from the previous month, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said in a revised report Tuesday, unchanged from a preliminary reading. The seasonally adjusted production index for the manufacturing and mining sectors stood at 99.8 against the 2010 base of 100.
The shipment index gained 3.5 percent to 98.0, an upward revision from the 3.4 percent rise shown in the preliminary report released last month. The inventory index fell 0.2 percent to 112.1, compared with the preliminary reading of a 0.3 percent drop.
