ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue has granted permission to the Model Customs Collectorate, Islamabad for establishment of the Staff Welfare Shop.
Officials informed that consumer durables and other miscellaneous goods due for disposal shall be offered for sale in this shop. The FBR instructed the Islamabad Customs that operating procedure for the welfare shop will be strictly followed.
A four member management committee will be constituted and shall consist of the additional collector (HQ) as president, deputy /assistant collector (HQ), state warehouse superintendent and Customs House officers, the FBR directed.
Under the rules for the shop, all decisions of the committee shall be signed by the president and all the other members. Goods shall be received by the Customs Welfare Shop from the Customs State Warehouses of the collectorate after payment of all government taxes, with proper inventory to be prepared in duplicate.
All goods receive by the shop shall be duly entered in the stock book and ledger, and daily sale statement shall be prepared. The sale shall be entirely against cash payment and credit sale shall not be allowed under any circumstances.
Sale proceeds shall be deposited in the designated bank within the 24 hours against the current account in the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to be operated by the president of the committee constituted under this order and the next senior officer by appointment of the committee.
Earlier, Customs North Region Chief Collector Sarwat Tahira had inaugurated welfare shop at the Model Customs Collectorate, Peshawar in order to facilitate the employees.
