ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform is keenly working with China’s National Development and Reform Commission on different projects including Pakistan-China Economic Corridor and to tackle power crises in Pakistan.
The finance minister, who is in the United States these days to attend International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank meetings, said this while talking to Chinese Vice Minister for Finance Yaobin Shi.
Ishaq Dar informed the Chinese minister that he had successfully held Diamer-Basha Opportunities Conference in Washington DC with the support of USAID. He said that World Bank had vowed to give funds for Dasu Project, which vital for irrigation and power generation. He said due to strong policies, the government had achieved macroeconomic stability as the economic growth had crossed 4 per cent mark after six years
The Chinese Vice Minister lauded Pakistan’s regional connectivity initiatives and expressed his support for pushing forward enhanced economic cooperation between the two countries besides Economic Corridor and Orange Line.
