COLERAINE: Two people have been arrested in connection with the production and smuggling of cocaine in Coleraine.
A 30-year-old woman and 34-year-old man have been arrested after police conducted searches at four addresses in Coleraine. At one of the addresses, a cocaine press and a large quantity of bulking agent was seized, alongside other items of drug paraphernalia.
Police said that the searches are part of an ongoing operation against an organised crime gang involved in the production and supply of cocaine.
Detective Inspector Tom McClure from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch said: “We have arrested a 30-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man on suspicion of a number of drugs offences including ‘possession of class A drugs’ and ‘possession of class A drugs with intent to supply’ as well as ‘Conspiracy to supply Class A drugs’ and ‘being concerned in the production of class A drugs, namely cocaine.
“Both individuals remain in custody assisting us with our enquiries.”
